Western Australia Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development is committed to growing and protecting Western Australia’s agriculture and food sector. We are supporting the WA agrifood sector to significantly increase its value by capitalising on growing global demand for food, while safeguarding our state’s precious natural resources.

As an economic development agency, we conduct targeted research and development and foster innovation to enable the sector to overcome barriers for growth and increase its contribution to the state’s economy.

Our highly skilled staff work collaboratively with industry, delivering services over more than 100 million hectares across the state and to agribusinesses along supply and value chains. We also provide a range of resources and information to support agrifood businesses and educate the WA community.
